Up to£45,000 per annum depending on experience

THE ROLE


We have a new opportunity within the Audit team on a Permanent basis for an Internal Audit Manager to work closely with colleagues within the team undertaking operational and financial internal audits.

The audit process will include an independent appraisal of policies, procedures, processes, accounting, financial and administrative controls, and systems. You will also be involved in special, operational, and financial analysis on an ad hoc basis.

You will conduct individual audits in accordance with the defined methodology, which includes

  • Planning the audit, defining audit objectives and preparing the risk comtrol matrix/test plans,
- evaluating the effectiveness of controls,
- maintaining comprehensive working papers,
- drafting and agreeing findings and
- compiling the final report.


Reporting to the Internal Audit Director, you will interview business teams about working practices and ascertaining compliance with established policies and procedures, and identifying actual and potential weaknesses in controls, cost savings and efficiencyimprovements will be part of your responsibility.

You will challenge current working practices and find ways to improve internal risk controls,


adopting innovative and efficient audit techniques, such as the use of Computer Assisted Audit Techniques (CAATs) and adapt your behaviour, where necessary, to encourage auditees to co-operate fully to achieve the purpose of the audit.


You will also proactively evaluate risks and internal controls against changing trends and market/economic conditions and help to track agreed actions through to completion.


You will have a proven track record in an internal audit role at a similar level, with the ability to display tact while being assertive where required.

You will have a confident and professional manner in order to engage with stakeholders at all levelsinternally, as well as the National Audit Office.

Experience in banking or other areas of financial services would be beneficial.
