Watford


We are looking for a personal care assistant to join our team of PAs to provide personal care at the weekends for an elderly male direct payment (DP) holder.


Hours and rate of pay:
£16.97 per hour. Required on Saturday and Sunday. (Please see below for the hours). Disclosure and Barring Service check will be required.


Training:

Training will be offered to complete the mandatory training required:

  • Safeguarding Adults
  • Introduction to first aid
  • Health and Safety

What you would be doing:


Lunch time care: 12:00 to 13:30 - DP holder needs to be hoisted onto the commode, then hoisted onto the bed, to change him and clean him.

Hoisted back onto the commode, then onto the recliner to give his meal and make him comfortable


Tea time care: 16:00 to 17:30 - He needs to be hoisted onto the commode, then hoisted onto the bed, to change him and clean him.

He will then stay in bed. He might need a wash down. He needs to be dressed in his night clothes and made comfortable. Creaming is also needed. Dressing on sacrum need to be checked.


Late night call: 20:00 to 20:30 - To assist the DP holder with repositioning due to the sacrum sore he has at the moment.

Check his pad is clean and dry and change if required. Creams to be applied.

We are looking for someone who is compassionate, empathetic, reliable, patient, positive and self-motivated. Someone with common sense and is team player.
