Job Purpose:


The Facilities Operative reports to the business services centre supervisor and is responsible for assisting the FM operation with porterage tasks (manual handling) such as meeting room, event and desk set ups within the building, with a focus on ensuring the quality of the facilities are continually presented in line with the client desired high standards and requirements.

The Facilities Operatives will serve as the eyes and ears of the building, mainly through daily floor walks.


Responsibilities:


  • Good Catch / Near Miss Recording
  • Event furniture setups.
  • Assisting meeting and events coordinators with adhoc duties.
  • Support with small office furniture moves.
  • Support the desk set up team as and when required.
  • Act as point of contact for management of B1 stores and requests.
  • Support in maintaining the loading bay team sorting/tidying of space.
  • Signage set up and installation.
  • Locker Clearances.
  • Adhoc assistance with contractor escorting.
  • Any adhoc duties to support the FM operation.
  • Any other duties as required by the Operations Manager or Client including adhoc mailroom duties.
  • Correcting the clocks and changing batteries.
  • SIMT/Corrigo updates.
  • Daily meeting room set ups and changes in accordance with local arrangements and SOP's.
  • Checking of meeting room and flex rooms ensuring standards are maintained at all time accordance with local SOP's.
  • Manual handling ie. Moving pallets and furniture using pallet truck.
  • Daily Floor Walks
  • The floor walks serve as the most integral part of our service. The team will inspect three floors per day working from the top to the bottom of the building through the week. Floor Walks are rigorous inspections of each floor within the building, focusing on making sure the facilities are both presentable and fit for purpose.
  • Inspect the general cleanliness and standards of the office floor, flex rooms, conference rooms, kitchens and toilet facilities as well as; Doors, ceiling and floors, lighting, clocks, walls and skirting boards, telephones & AV equipment (HDMI Cable or Cisco pads), hand sanitiser and tissues, testing the power supply available at the desk, assessing the sturdiness of the chairs and desk, ensuring all signage is correct, fire extinguishers, First Aid Boxes (Stocked and sealed), ensuring that walkways are free and clear of obstructions, copy points (Printers, Stationary Stock Levels, Fire Exits), stationary stock (4 Whiteboard pens
  • Blue, Black, Red & Blue with handheld board wiper and liquid cleaner).
  • Create and inventory defects during floor walks, namely any issues that may cause a hinderance to staff or that stand out as a Health and Safety concern.
  • Transfer notes using the SIM Ticketing system and raise tickets to which will be delegated to various departments to ensure that any issues are responded to and eliminated.

Experience:


  • Experience in a similar role.
  • The post holder will be professional at all times when dealing with clients and proactively represent SPS on site promoting excellent customer service.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a variety of written and verbal formats with a wide range of people.
  • Working accurately, under pressure, to tight deadlines with the ability to remain calm.
  • Working shifts Mon-Fri between 7am7pm.
