The supervisor contributes to the success of a Starbucks store by assisting the store manager in delivering the Starbucks Experience for customers through operational activities and coaching for performance.

Due to the nature of the role, you will need to be available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and/or holidays, sometimes at short notice.
It is a requirement on occasion that you are willing to work at a Starbucks other than your home store on a temporary or permanent basis.
The responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:Running Shifts with Customers at Our Core
Collaborating with the Store Manager, leading great shifts, supporting partners and inspiring best moments and the Starbucks Experience for our partners and customers.
Collects information from a variety of sources to inform planning for shifts.
Maintains a calm demeanour to keep stores operating to standard and setting a positive example for the team.
Uses the Prepare, Lead and Transition model to plan, execute and review their shifts.
Solving Problems in the Moment
Using the ACT decision making model to keep the store safe and welcoming.
Inspires and motivates the store team to make every moment right for our partners and customers, including pre-empting and adapting to any potential issues and addressing/resolving any that arise to optimise the customer experience.
Identifies teachable moments to share best practices with the team.
Sees challenges as opportunities for continuous improvement to drive operational excellence.
Leading Operations Activities
Executes store operations during scheduled shifts, including organising opening and closing duties.
Ensures presentation of the store is to standard at all day parts.
Ensures all partners follows Starbucks operational policies and procedures, including those for cash handling and safety and security, to ensure the safety of all partners during each shift.
Supports store performance by placing orders that ensure the store is sufficiently stocked for all day parts
Deputises and advocates for the store manager as required and uses their network for support.
Creating the Right Environment
Communicates information to the store team so they can respond as necessary to create the Third Place environment during each shift.
Promotes an atmosphere of engagement and pride in delivering the Starbucks Experience and achieving goals.
Recognises and reinforces individual and team accomplishments by using existing organisational tools and collaborating with the store manager to find new, creative, and effective methods of recognition.
Creates opportunities to share the passion for the craft and coffee knowledge.
Coaching for Performance & Development
Assists with new partner training, reinforcing successful performance and giving respectful and encouraging coaching that drives performance. Provides feedback to store manager on partner performance during shift.
Contributes to positive team environment by spotting alarms or changes in partner morale and performance, communicating them to the store manager.
Monitors partner performance and provides regular, constructive feedback to all partners
Coaches partners using the GROW model
Documents performance conversations as necessary.
Experience & Qualifications
Previous experience in a fast paced customer facing role
Previous experience in delegating tasks to other employees or experience in mentoring team
