Coding Black Females was established in 2017 to address the underrepresentation of black women in tech. We are a non profit organisation with the aim to grow and inspire the community of black female developers. We are the largest network of black female developers in the UK.


Mission


Our mission is to grow the community of black women in software development and technical roles, from entry level to executive level.

We will remove the barriers to enter the industry and progress within roles.


Aim

Our main aims are:

  • Build the community by removing barriers, showcasing talent and making our role models visible
  • Provide opportunities for our community to learn new skills, and share their skills with other people in the community
  • Support the community through mentoring, providing a safe space for discussions and development


Coding Black Females deliver technical bootcamps ranging from 6 weeks to 30 weeks, we are looking for a Student Experience Officer to support students on one or many technical bootcamps from start to finish to ensure their successful delivery and completion.


We are looking for an enthusiastic person to support students and the programme through regular communication with students, session planning and partnership liaison.

You will work closely with the project manager to ensure there are a range of initiatives for engaging and supporting students.

It will be your responsibility to facilitate resources that help to provide a positive student experience and support the Project Manager with matters relating to student engagement and wellbeing.


Responsibilities and Expectations


This is a varied role and you will need to be flexible and willing to take on a range of tasks.


  • Ensuring each stage of the student journey on the bootcamp is successfully completed through regular follow ups and 1:1 meetings.
  • Breaking down barriers that students might face which deter them from completing the bootcamp.
  • Proactively contacting students to help with motivation in completing tasks.
  • Managing meeting arrangements that relate to bootcamps, including induction, bootcamp sessions, mentoring, 121 meetings and drop in/pop up activities.
  • Coordinate Insight Evenings, seminars and workshops ensuring sessions are scheduled and promoted as required.
  • Monitoring and evaluation of student experience and progress.
  • Provide feedback on sessions and produce and present evaluation reports to measure satisfaction, value and impact of bootcamp.
  • Support with supervision of a team of Teaching Assistants to help maximize their effectiveness.
  • Manage the events calendar for students on the bootcamps you're supporting.
  • Manage the collection of qualitative and qualitative data in relation to all student engagement activities.
  • Coordinate projects and undertake project work around the theme of student engagement. This will involve taking responsibility for the coordination and progress of assigned student engagement projects, ensuring the timely recording of activity against objectives and milestones.
  • The effective use of communications to update students and instructors/teachers on progress, activities and the escalation of issues and/ or delays to the bootcamp.
  • Conduct focus groups and surveys.
  • Contribute to the development of learning materials, print and web based.
  • Building new partnerships with organisations that support the development of students' learning.

Salary:
£21,000.00-£37,000.00 per year
