Are you an experienced mentor looking to take your next career step? Do you have a history of supporting children and young people?


Empowering Learning are working alongside one of our partner schools in the DE24 area who are looking to appoint a senior learning mentor to work within their team.

The role will be full time and contracted on a permanent basis.

The school is located around 10 minutes from the city centre and is easily accessible by public transport. The school has fantastic grounds with a large playing field.

The main duties within this role are:

  • Working across all year groups with children in KS3 and KS
  • Providing pastoral support both in and out of classroom
  • Liaising with the SENCO and SLT around progress of the children
  • Leading academic interventions with children working below age expected levels
  • Helping to reintegrate children back into class who had been removed due to poor behaviour
  • Running lunchtime groups to help reduce the number of incidents during this time

The school are looking for someone who:

  • Has at least two years of school based experience
  • Has previously worked with pupils who present with SEN
  • Can build good and strong relationships with the children
  • Is an effective communicator
  • Has a good sense of humour (It helps)
  • Is available to begin work from January 2024

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent


Salary:
£19,500.00-£22,897.00 per year

  • Monday to Friday
