Description

The post-holder will be professionally accountable to their nominated consultant and the Clinical Director for the specialty. The Chief Medical Officer has overall accountability for all medical staff. This post is not recognised for training. The Clinical fellow in Plastic Surgery will work alongside Core Trainees and Foundation Year doctors on the junior rota.

Duties will involve the medical and orthopaedic management of orthopaedic patients, the assessment of patients in the Emergency Department and assisting in theatre

Clinical responsibilities:

The postholder will undertake plastic surgery clinics and provide care for patients with a wide range of plastic surgical conditions.

The successful applicant will engage fully and proactively in clinical governance activities, including clinical audit, and the Trusts clinical governance systems.

Support infection prevention & control and antimicrobial stewardship activities.

Participate in laboratory and clinical audit.
