Chelsea and Westminster Hospital Foundation NHS Trust wishes to appoint a Locum Consultant Physician in Diabetes Endocrinology and General Medicine.

The Trust is looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated physician to join the team.


The Department of Endocrinology and Diabetes is one of the largest in the country, combining general and specialist diabetes and endocrinology, including nationally commissioned specialist endocrinology.


The appointee will:


  • Share a commitment to care of general medical inpatients under the endocrine team
  • Participate in the acute medical on call rota for West Middlesex Hospital
  • Provide general diabetes and endocrine clinics, as well as other clinics as determined by the job plan and requirements of the service
  • Enhance the educational opportunities available to our trainees by any reorganisation and development of services that they initiate.
  • Regular audits will be required and supervision for Quality Improvement Projects (QIP) undertaken by the trainees.
  • Involvement in general management and committee work for the hospital will also be encouraged.


We provide services from two main hospitals, West Middlesex University Hospital and Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, and a number of clinics across London and the South-East.

We are currently spending £25 million on expanding our adult and neonatal critical care facilities at Chelsea and Westminster and redevelopment of our children's unit at West Middlesex - in partnership with our charity, CW+ and generous donors.

The Department has clinical and educational meetings at which cases are reviewed and discussed. There are management meetings.

The post holder will have support from administration shared between other Consultants. The appointee will have a desk in a shared office with access to a computer.
