Adecco are proud to be working in partnership with a government department to recruit a HR Adviser initially on a 2-year contract.


This is a key role to deliver a high-quality customer focused HR Operations service to both internal and external stakeholders and provide additional support across the HR directorate.

The successful incumbent will manage the HR queries inbox and respond accordingly within a timely manner.

You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively across other teams to ensure the new joiner on-boarding processes are consistently delivered within agreed time frames.


As the HR Adviser you will manage and maintain the employee life cycle casework lists ensuring payroll is processed in line with monthly deadlines, support policy development, design and deliver operational processes across HR including absences, new starters, flexible working requests, secondments, contract amendments and parental leave.


This is a truly exciting opportunity to manage two direct reports and have overall responsibility for HR policy implementation and HR Operations casework activities.

You will also contribute to a diverse portfolio of HR continuous improvement projects ensuring the organisation delivers a customer focused HR service.


  • Previous experience of managing and advising on employee life cycle casework, with excellent knowledge of employment law and HR best practice ideally within a highly regulated environment.
  • Demonstrable experience of working successfully to tight deadlines with the ability to prioritise workloads.
  • Experience of developing, implementing, and maintaining systems and processes that ensure all HR activities are delivered efficiently and effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain policies and processes to all stakeholders.
  • Experience of managing and developing staff would be beneficial but is not essential.
