About Our Service

Capability Scotland is a well-established and respected provider of community-based facilitation services throughout Dumfries and Galloway.

In the past three years we have grown from a small but very well-established and respected service to that of a major contributor to the provision of care and support across Dumfries and the wider region.

We pride ourselves on our creativity, flexibility, and willingness to think outside the box with the support we offer.

Capability Scotland provides:

  • Self-Directed Support brokerage and payroll service

We currently have a vacancy for an SDS Link Practitioner within our brokerage service.

About the role

We are looking for an SDS Link Practitioner to join our busy brokerage team.

Working alongside colleagues you will provide the people we support with the opportunity to exercise choice and control over their care needs and how this is delivered.

Self-Directed Support enables people with the choice to receive 'personalised' care that reflects their needs and wishes.

At Capability Scotland we provide independent advice and support and help to navigate the social care map in Dumfries & Galloway.

Taking a Human Resources approach you will:

  • Empower individuals to exercise choice and control around care needs
  • Support people to utilise their Direct Payment award
  • Guiding people to undertake safer recruitment of personal assistants and become good employers
  • Assist people to effectively manage their personal budgets (which may include payroll services)
  • Work alongside social work to navigate the intricacies of managing an SDS award
  • Give people the opportunity to ensure their views are heard
  • Provide general information, advice, and support.

We are looking for someone who is keen to implement national policy into practice at a local level, keen to implement innovation while maintaining a positive environment and high-quality service.

This role is ideal for someone who wants to put their values and vision into practice.
