We have an exciting new Team Leader post for an experienced NHS Administrator to join our Oncology and Haematology Admin Teams working to support the Admin Manager across both of these busy departments.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual looking for their next career move.

This role would be ideal for someone looking to progress in their admin career with long term aspirations to be an Admin or Service Manager.


The Team Leader will already have an excellent NHS admin track record, and in this role will be involved in all aspects of HR Management for designated staff including leave management, recruitment, training, data quality, sickness reporting etc.


The role will involve liaising directly with our patients and their relatives as well as the doctors and all other disciplines of staff.


The postholder will work with the wider team to continuously review systems and processes looking for opportunities to streamline, and will support the implementation of any new ways of working.

They will also work as a member of the team to cover staff absences as required. Previous experience of working in outpatient clinics is therefore essential.

  • Support the Admin Manager with the supervision of the Oncology & Haematology admin teams on a daily basis, also undertaking appraisals and providing training when necessary. (Oncology & Haematology Clinic Coordinators).
  • Coordinate the various teams' workloads, making adjustments and reallocating duties to other team members to ensure continuity of service
  • To provide information on a range of data as required by the management team and to assist in accurate booking of clinics, ensuring that patients are seen within local and national access targets.
  • To monitor data quality and letter turnaround times, working with individuals to provide training and support as necessary.
  • The post holder will be expected to demonstrate flexibility, including travelling to other sites within UHL if required.
  • To ensure the highest standards for patient experience, quality and governance are maintained.
