CareerLink have a very exciting new opportunity which has become available in the Chorley area.

We are recruiting on behalf of one of our well-established and friendly engineering clients based in Chorley.


The role we are recruiting for is a delivery van driver role to undertake the role of making multiple collections and deliveries to different engineer suppliers premises in and around the North West & Yorkshire area.

You would be required to undertake the following duties;

  • Carrying out at least drops per shift within specified areas.
  • Load and unload the van independently and ensuring items are properly secured for the transportation.
  • Utilise hand held scanners for tracking and recording deliveries ( experienced preferred but not essential)
  • Adhere to all relevant road safety regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain a regular communication with the dispatch team and provide updates on delivery status.
  • Conduct routine vehicle checks and inspections to report any vehicle maintenance or repair needs.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills when interacting with engineers and clients.
The role would require you to work on a Monday
  • Friday
basis.

You would be working the hours of 8pm - 4am with the minimum shift length being 8 hours.

Overtime is paid anything worked after 40 hours.

The pay rate are as follows;


  • Monday

  • Friday
  • Nights £13.04 per hour


  • Monday

  • Friday
  • Overtime after 40 hours £19.56 per hour
To be considered for the role you must have the following;

  • Previous experience as a van driver is essential.
  • Valid drivers licence with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to efficiently organise and plan delivery routes.
  • Good physical fitness for loading and unloading items.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in completing paperwork and records.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work within a team.
  • Flexibility to work overnight from 8pm 4am.


This role is a really good opportunity for a long-term ongoing role and there is a chance to become a permeant driver.


Salary:
£13.04-£19.56 per hour
