Team Description:


Description of role and key responsibilities:

  • Provide financial planning and investment advice in all key areas of expertise to new and existing clients of the firm. Ensuring the client is at the heart of all interactions.
  • Manage key investment management relationships with complimentary financial planning to provide a total wealth management service embedding valuable client outcomes
  • To promote holistic financial planning to the business and to clients directly.
  • To promote the wealth and investment proposition for Investec including Discretionary Investment Management.
  • Help build and develop strategic relationships both internally and externally, contributing to the growth of the business in terms of assets under advice and revenue.
  • Engage with change as roles transition to a Wealth Planner advice model.
  • To consider the opportunities to add value to a client relationship with the services from the wider Investec Group.

Core skills and knowledge:


  • High level of technical knowledge required in all aspects of financial planning to include good investment knowledge.
  • Fully qualified with progress towards chartered status (or equivalent) preferred.
  • Desire to contribute to growth of revenue through a combination of sources.
  • Can demonstrate alignment with the client centric ethos of the firm.

  • Experience of retirement planning (to include pension scheme transfers), inheritance tax planning and tax efficient investment advantageous

Any other attributes that would be helpful, but not essential for the role:

  • Strong relationships required with peers and the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Able to quickly build trust and confidence in all business relationships.
  • Able to work well within a team environment.
  • Ability to engage in dialogue with investment managers and team leaders within Sheffield office.
  • Needs to be able to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks.
  • Timely servicing of existing clients and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to promote Financial Planning in the most positive light.
  • Empathetic approach to team members and a rapport within the wider financial planning and investment management business.
