This is an exciting opportunity to be an integral part of a diverse and fast paced greenspace Infrastructure team.

This involves a variety of tasks and challenges to help maintain our award winning parks and open spaces throughout Perth and Kinross.


You will be required to undertake the planning and management of work programmes and quality standards of work carried out contractors, including the procurement and administration of small works and services contracts to meet Community Greenspace policies, strategies and plans.


You will ensure health and safety, stock taking and expenditure procedures are adhered to and that maintenance and inspections are properly carried out.

You will support staff in the preparation, implementation and development of systems and procedures in Community Greenspace. You will also assist with the collation of performance information, procurement and management of contracts and audit contracts to ensure compliance with legislative requirements


You will explore and establish partnership working practices with Perth and Kinross communities and other stakeholders to develop alternative delivery mechanisms where appropriate for maintenance and or use of local community greenspace sites.


This is a fast-paced work environment, so excellent organisation skills are key as are the ability to prioritise work loads, manage time & keep accurate records.

It is vital to have good communication skills and with a variety of audiences.

The ability to use databases, spreadsheets, and other computer systems (ideally including mapping systems) would be advantageous.


The successful post-holder will be required to carry out site visits therefore a driving licence and reasonable level of fitness are required.

Requirements:


Minimum HNC or equivalent for responsibilities to be undertaken or significant equivalent experience in a work related discipline is required.

Significant experience of working within a local authority or background in the areas relevant to the post.


Proven experience in the areas relevant to the post Commitment to professional development of self and others with experience of supporting and training volunteers to gain new skills.

Proven ability to deal with a wide cross section of the public in relation to customer requests and expectations Experience in innovative delivery or problem solving to achieve results

Knowledge of financial administration and budgeting Understanding of database management & customer survey systems.

Ability to resolve problems independently and/or refer if necessary.

Committed to providing an excellent service.

Must be pleasant and courteous at all times.

Ability to communicate with a variety of audiences.

An understanding of Health and Safety legislation in relation to their areas of operation.

Must be able to think quickly and respond to circumstances as they arise.

Able to meet work schedule targets and other appropriate deadlines.

Organisational skills, ability to plan work, manage time & keep accurate records.


You must have a valid UK driving licence as this post requires you to travel to a variety of locations across Perth and Kinross.
