***Due to continued growth and expansion we are currently looking to recruit a Production Supervisor to join our business in Sheffield on a permanent basis.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:General efficient, effective and ethical people management responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Performance management, including managing poor and good performers (including appraisals).
  • Absence management, carrying out return to work processes.
  • Learning & Development ensuring relevant training and development plans are created and reviewed regularly to assist with individual developmental objectives and succession planning.
  • Recruitment and Selection.
  • Act as a role model to employees, champion effective change management and conduct day to day activities in an ethical manner.
  • To enable NPI work through CNC machines and supporting functions in conjunction with the Engineering team.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvements and full processes in conjunction with the CI Lead and Engineering team.
  • To ensure that production areas are run in a safe manner as first priority including working with operators on preparing risk assessments and complying with safe systems of work. Encouraging employees to raise safety concerns.
  • To investigate any quality issues and ensure a Root Cause Corrective Action is carried out.
  • Organise, plan, prioritise and allocate all work (at a personnel and machine level) in your department and achieve targets and deadlines. the departmental goals and targets, selecting projects, structure and staff and proactively spotting and acting on the need for change.
  • Control daily production execution, by tracking the adherence and collecting accurate information about the reason for not achieving the target, and use them for continual improvement.
  • Control production efficiency by monitoring, understanding, implementing best practice booking behaviours and use to drive productivity improvements.
  • To ensure daily TPM checks are completed and adhered to.
  • Skills management by use of the skills matrix, running skills assessments and identifying skills gaps. Creating, implementing and verifying the training plans.
  • Actively promote adherence to the production schedule, work closely with planning and the rest of the team to make this possible and improve scheduling.
  • To liaise with the maintenance team and ensure equipment is working and in good repair.
  • Ensure all operators adhere to daily schedules in line with manufacturing capacity and customer demands. Utilise KPI's and PI's using communication, management techniques and tools such as SQDCP boards.
  • To assist in evaluating new production equipment.
  • Reports on team/individuals' performance.

Experience and Skills:


  • Previous experience in Manufacturing (Nuclear and Aerospace is desirable)
  • Experience managing the daily and weekly production of a busy department.
  • Able to demonstrate an excellent record of successful project planning and execution.
  • Excellent leadership, organisational skills and the ability to multitask, including strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrable experience of managing people issues effectively together with a high level of emotional intelligence and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High level of analytical skills, and problemsolving ability
  • Worked in a fastpaced environment target driven and customer focused.
  • Have previously worked with EFACS
  • Desirable
  • Awareness/knowledge of Health & Safety standards
  • Call Grace on between the hours of 8am 5pm Mon-Fri
