Are you a Dietitian with genuine interest and experience in diabetes? Would you like to expand your knowledge in this area within a supportive department at a large teaching NHS Trust? Due to movement within the team, we are delighted to have a great opportunity for you.

We are looking for a Dietitian to join us as part of our Diabetes team working across the two campuses at Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH) NHS Trust and with some remote working.

There is also opportunity to work with the community team and within the maternity service. The dietitian is a key member of the multidisciplinary team, which includes Diabetes Consultants, Diabetes Specialist Nurses and Midwives.

Main duties of the job

You will be working alongside other dietitians within the team to provide a service to the diabetes population at NUH.

The work will be mostly with people on an outpatient basis, building positive relationships and increasing people's capacity to manage their chronic condition.

You will be involved in one to one and group education, including facilitating structured education programs and participating in a variety of clinics such as insulin pump therapy, antenatal, young person's clinic, pancreatic enzyme replacement therapy and the renal diabetes clinic.

Applicants should have experience in diabetes, with excellent communication and behavioural change skills and a flexible approach. DAFNE training, remote DAFNE training and an understanding of the latest technology such as Libre, is desirable.

Your own continued development will be supported with access to local and national courses and shadowing opportunities alongside other specialist dietitians and mentoring support.

You will have the opportunity to be involved in service development and audit.

Working for our organisation

We are a large and friendly department of around 90 staff including assistants and technicians providing dietetic and nutrition support across all areas of the Trust and beyond.

The Service has excellent IT facilities.
The Trust is committed to providing excellent nutritional care, led by its Nutrition and Hydration Steering committee. We have close links with the University of Nottingham, and take student dietitians for A, B and C placements.
Nottingham is a friendly city with excellent leisure facilities, shops and beautiful countryside within easy reach. It has first-rate transport links with its close proximity to East Midlands Airport and train services.
