We are AMS.

Our Contingent Workforce Solutions (CWS) is one of our service offerings; we act as an extension of our clients' recruitment team and provide professional interim and temporary resources.


Our client is a globally respected engineering organisation, providing white collar, Blue collar and engineering services to many sectors including energy, aerospace, marine and defence.


At present we are looking for an
X-RAY Operator to work on our client's site in
Derby on an initial
12-month contract.

The role is going to be on a
3-shift rotating pattern(covering morning, afternoon and night shifts, Monday to Friday).


Working as part of a high performing team, this role will focus on the x-ray inspection of shafts and drums, working to instructions, specifications & standards.

As the facility is targeting minimum standards in lean techniques, the role will include integration and delivery of client's Production System (RRPS) tasks which include tasks such as lean Manufacturing, Asset Care, Visual Management and Waste Reduction.


What You'll Be Doing

  • Have the skills and knowledge to set up and standardise equipment, systematically inspect parts, interpret and evaluate for acceptance or rejection, and document results. Raising failed inspection and correction documentation
  • Operation of the CAPP MES work booking system and INSPECT inspection results booking system
  • Be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the technique/method.
  • Have the skills and knowledge to conduct system performance checks in accordance with the applicable process standard.
  • Be capable of providing the necessary guidance and/or supervision to trainees
  • Be familiar with the codes, standards and other contractual documents that control the method as used.
  • Have a basic knowledge of relevant product manufacturing and inspection technology.
  • When applicable, have a basic knowledge of operational experience and its effects upon hardware.
  • Undertake basic housekeeping tasks, including 5s activity, process and compliance.
  • Involvement in Improvement activity
  • Shooting and viewing of aerospace products, using digital Xray techniques
  • Operating xray machines

Key Skills and experience required (E.G skilled or unskilled)

Skills Required:


  • Knowledge of Asset care
  • Computer literate
  • Use & understanding of stereo binocular inspection equipment
  • Interpretation of Manufacturing Instructions & drawings
  • Working to Standard Operating Procedures, Quality Standards & Technique Instructions
  • Qualified lifting and slinging
  • Ideally Aerospace background
