This is an exciting opportunity for Healthcare Support Workers with experience of working in an acute hospital setting to work alongside our Patient Transfer Team between the hours of 14:00-20:00 Monday to Friday.


The successful applicant will be working alongside the Hospital Site Coordinators and Bed Managers in supporting and creating capacity by ensuring the safe, effective, and timely flow of patients across the Oldham.

We are looking for enthusiastic and energetic individuals who work well under pressure and are great team players. You will be a professional who truly understands the need for care, consideration, and respect for our patients.


Clinical Support Workers play a vital role in line with nurses to deliver excellent care to our patients with broad and varied health conditions.

The job is both exciting and challenging where team working is essential and good initiative is paramount.

  • Work alongside site coordinators and bed management team to transfer patients safely and proactively to the right place and at the right time.
  • Advocate the safe transfer of patients and escalate when standards fall below expectations.
  • Support all wards and departments to maintain and promote flow.
  • Ensure bed allocation on site systems is up to date with accurate information.
  • Work independently and as part of the wider team maintaining high professional standards.
  • Contribute ideas for quality improvement projects.
  • Attendance across all wards to determine accurate bed state
  • Establish and maintain communication with patients, relatives, and carers, working in partnership with the multidisciplinary team to provide holistic patient care.
