Overview:


We are looking for a new SENCO/Inclusion Lead to become a part of the Oakley team to start in September 2023 (with the possibility of working alongside the current SENDCo in Term 6).


This is a part-time role, one day a week, on a permanent basis, with the option to work additional hours on a casual basis during periods of busy workload.

As well as heading up the SEND team, if you are interested, you may also have some teaching responsibilities.

About the role:

  • Interested in researchbased approaches to improve the provision for pupils with SEND

The SENDCo will be line managed by, and directly accountable to, the Headteacher.


About you:


Qualifications and Training:
Qualified teacher status
National Award for SEN Co-ordination, or a willingness to complete it within 3 years of appointment, Degree.


Experience:

Teaching experience [at least 3 years]
Experience of working at a whole-school level
Involvement in self-evaluation and development planning
Experience of conducting training/leading INSET


Skills and Knowledge:
Sound knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice
Understanding of what makes 'quality first' teaching, and of effective intervention strategies
Ability to plan and evaluate interventions
Data analysis skills and the ability to use data to inform provision planning
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to build effective working relationships
Ability to influence and negotiate
Good record-keeping skills
