    Technical Support Engineer

    Pertemps is recruiting a Technical Support Engineer for a specialist chemical manufacturer based in Hampshire. The company seeks an enthusiastic candidate with an engineering background.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Provide extensive technical support and backup to UK & European distributors.
    2. Develop and implement testing programmes to ensure product quality.
    3. Maintain and expand central knowledge databases for product and application information.
    4. Attend site visits to support sales staff with technical details, enhancing customer relationships.
    5. Answer calls and emails relating to technical support, resolving issues efficiently.
    6. Host training sessions and hands-on demonstrations of products, showcasing expertise.
    7. Handle product quality complaints promptly and professionally.
    8. Assist with quality control when the QC Technician is absent, ensuring seamless operations.
    9. Write technical articles and product PR to promote the brand.
    10. Update CRM database, forwarding sales leads to relevant departments for timely follow-up.

    Requirements:

    1. Experience in a similar role is essential.
    2. A background in working with adhesives, sealants, coatings, or paints is advantageous.
    3. A science-based qualification or degree is required.
    4. An engineering background is necessary for this position.
    5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are vital for success.
    6. The ability to travel to Europe occasionally is a requirement.
    7. A full UK driving licence is necessary for business trips.

    The Technical Support Engineer Role:

    1. This is a Monday to Friday, 8am - 4:30pm position.
    2. The salary is negotiable based on experience.
    3. An annual bonus is available.
    4. The willingness to travel, including European travel and attending exhibitions, is essential.
    5. The company offers 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
    6. A generous pension contribution is provided.
    7. Private medical cover is included in the benefits package.
