Description
Job Purpose
To deliver an excellent day to day core housing repairs service. This includes technical support, receipt and dealing with repair enquiries, requests, complaints, comments, work scheduling and making appointments.
To work with the Senior Property Services Support Officer and the wider Housing and Communities team within the Council to ensure excellence in service to customers, both internal and external is achieved.
Main Activities (Corporate)
Be committed to the Council's Vision and carry out work within the spirit and intention of its core values.
An understanding and awareness of the concept of "Making Every Contact Count" (MECC), attending training where necessary.
To contribute to a creative and open environment within the Housing Team where employees feel supported, involved and consulted.
To make use of the technology available to improve communication and service delivery within the Team, the Service Unit and the Council as a whole.
To carry out all work within the spirit and the intent of relevant legislation and Council policy and procedures, e.g.
To work in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
To undertake personal development commensurate with the duties and responsibilities of the job.
To assist in collating, delivering and reviewing service standard, quality and performance targets within the Housing and Communities Service Unit.
To review and inform the development of administrative and IT systems and procedures continuously to ensure that services are executed to the highest standards possible.
Recent experience of dealing directly with customers, particularly via the telephone.
Experience in the use of computers systems, including word processing and spreadsheets.
Recent experience in undertaking clerical/administrative duties.
Qualifications in the English Language and Mathematics at NVQ Level 2 or equivalent
Ability to follow prescribed procedures.
Good planning and personal organisational skills.
Able to work to deadlines and prioritise own workload.
