Job Introduction

We are currently recruiting for a Health, Safety & Wellbeing Administrator for a 12-month Fixed Term Contract (Maternity Cover).

Main Responsibilities


Database Management:

  • Manage online OH / assurance / incident / learning / reporting database(s) including reports to SCS delivery unit leads, parent companies and the client
  • Manage and maintain all trackers and logs for Health Safety and Environment assurance and incidents including action trackers
  • Access parent company and client systems to ensure information is updated and relevant data is downloaded into the SCS domain.
  • Coordinate the occupational health department's activities in various sites into one centralised system
  • Manage health surveillance, health hygiene and all other occupational health databases / records.

Administrative Duties:

  • Organise and manage Contract Occupational Health and hygiene administrative requirements
  • Download occupational health reports from OH provider site for storage and to update the tracker.
  • Monitor health surveillance and safety critical recall tracker, liaise with OH managers and OH provider representative to arrange appointments.
  • Record drug tests results on a tracker sheet.
  • Plan and manage SCS biweekly lessons learned calls
  • Check data for accuracy and highlight any concerns or discrepancies to HSW management team.
  • Proactively and regularly communicate deadlines for completion of incident investigations and shared learning documents to ensure target dates are met.
  • Assist in the production and submission of award entries, case studies and shared learning documents using information provided by the wider HSW team.
  • Track and manage audit schedules and actions raised / close outs
  • Issue regular communications to ensure individuals are reminded of OH/ assurance/ investigation deadlines, and escalate to senior management where necessary.
  • Prepare and manage SCS Enabling Function, and Skanska HS2 OU month end data submissions
  • Understand the Client and Joint Venture Partners' Health & Safety policies, processes and statutory requirements as they affect the company's operations and ensure that the requirements, as applicable within their discipline, are implemented on the project.
  • Liaise with OH stakeholders
  • Experienced in the use of databases
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Power Point, Outlook, SharePoint and general IT literacy
  • Strong MS Excel skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Have flexibility and willingness to take on and assist in the implementation of new projects, tasks and activities outside of the usual administrative tasks

The role will work on the HS2 project. HS2 is the UK's new high speed rail network. It will be a catalyst for economic growth across Britain, freeing up space on the existing railways and connecting 8 out of the UK's 10 biggest cities with fast, reliable and frequent high speed services

The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) is delivering the HS2 London Tunnels Contract.

Scope of works includes twin-bored tunnels (TBM), SCL tunnels, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, services diversions, earthworks and the construction of site compounds.
