Role Definition:


You will operate as part of the production team responsible for the assembly of parts or components to produce Building Construction Product (BCP) machines, according to specified work orders.

As a Production Assembler/Line Runner you work on several stations covering planned/unplanned absences. You will utilise lean manufacturing tools and techniques whilst operating to defined "takt times" and production sequences.


Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Follow documented standard work procedures/instructions to perform safe and defect free assembly of parts and components, using various hand/power tools and lifting equipment provided in the work area.
  • Work on several stations to support planned and unplanned absences.
  • Train/coach Assembly Technician's/Apprentices to standard work instructions.
  • Operate BCP built machines where required.
  • Follow and utilise Caterpillar Production System principles of continuous improvement reporting, waste elimination and standard work.
  • Actively participate in product / process improvement dialogues as required and drive continuous improvement within the work area.
  • Cover the Team Leader's role in their absence.
  • Keep the work area clean, tidy and safe in line with 5S and total preventative maintenance (TPM).
  • Adhere to the company's Health & Safety policy and safe working practices.
  • Adhere to Caterpillar's Values in Action: Integrity, Commitment, Excellence, Teamwork.
  • Undertake training and further learning as required. Including EV awareness and safety.

Required Qualifications:


  • Demonstrable high level of assembly or mechanical aptitude and accuracy.
  • Have a fully flexible approach to the job role & responsibilities (willing to work overtime).
  • Thorough working knowledge of the area and build experience of the work stations within which you will be working.
  • The ability to use hand/power tools and lifting equipment.
  • The ability to read, comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions/procedures.
  • Attention to detail, able to work with own initiative and selfmotivated.
  • You will possess effective communication skills to liaise with various levels of the organisation.
  • Willing to undertake required training/learning.
  • Must be willing to work a multishift pattern.
