Job Description What your new role will entail;**We are looking for a Principal Flood Risk Consultant to join our growing Water Resources team. You will be a senior technical resource that will guide our more junior staff and proactively aim to develop our offering to local authorities, water companies and other government organisations.

Role Responsibilities:

Lead and input into tenders for flood risk management projects
Mentors staff within the team to support their professional development
Builds relationships with clients and across other technical disciplines
Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
Manage and technically review Strategic Flood Risk Assessments, Flood Risk Assessments and Flood Risk Chapters for Environmental Impact Assessments
Lead flood risk appraisals and business cases for Local Authority clients
Keep uptodate with developments in regulatory legislation and guidelines that may affect our services
Use AECOM's project management systems to deliver projects to programme and within budget
Work closely with our clients and teams of engineers and technical specialists to help our clients deliver a wide range of fluvial, coastal, surface water or drainage flood risk management projects

Qualifications Here's what we will need from you;**- Significant experience in flood risk management field

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Hydrology, or a related field.
Knowledge or experience of preparing business cases to secure Flood Defence Grant in Aid and/or parallel funding processes in place elsewhere in UK.
Obtained or working towards professional chartership with CIWEM or ICE
Proficient in the use of GIS.
