Night supervisor Job Description

Night Porters are often the first point of contact for guests.

Taking responsibility for that initial welcome, the all-important first impressions and taking the opportunity to really get to know the guests and anticipate their needs.


As Night Supervisors you will be responsible for the hotel security and guest facilities, as part of a night's team between 11pm and 7am, when service is just as important.

You will be calm and responsible and will be on the front line, ensuring standards are maintained at all times and providing the highest standards of guest service.


You must be self-motivated and be an inspirational leader, who believes in delivering the best possible standards in guest service, continually leading your team of by example.

The role requires excellent interpersonal skills.

The Night Supervisor role will involve:

  • Monitoring and supervising staff, ensuring that the hotel standards are maintained at all times
  • Directing night business and maintaining, reviewing and preparing the co ordination of daily business
  • Overseeing all front office accounting and financial procedures, night team duties and business transactions
  • Updating booking confirmations and checking details and requirements
  • Updating reservations, inputting cancellations and amendments and making sure all booking are accurate.
  • Monitoring all aspects of the night audit, making sure night staff are trained on this.
  • Completing Rotas.
  • Ensuring that unparalleled service is provided to guests throughout the night
  • Function room set up and clear down
  • Meeting room set up
  • Food & bar service
  • 24 hour room service
  • Concierge and valet parking
