Engineering Buyer

Location - Cambridgeshire

Co,petetive Salary + benefits

We are recruiting for a Buyer to join a specialist Engineering business based in the Cambridge area where you will work as a key part of the purchasing function supporting at a strategic level, also leading on daily activities, making recommendations andimplementing changes.

As the Engineering Buyer you will be required to:

Requesting for quotations, analysing quotes, and making sourcing recommendations
Check drawings and specifications with suppliers for quotations.
Updating prices in SAP, costing of parts, and resolving any blocked invoices
Ensuring that the source list is accurate and processing purchase orders.
Collect target prices and provide effective quotations to assist the sales/engineering process.
Plan and organise meetings, prepare minutes and documentation for meetings.
Carrying out annual price negotiations with local suppliers
Identifying new local suppliers, agreeing terms and negotiating supply agreements
Visiting suppliers and customers, responding to problems, and resolving any issues
Monitoring supplier's dependency level to minimise risks.
Able to focus on objectives and meet deadlines to timescales.
Customer focussed responding to internal and external customers.
Strong negotiation skills
MCIPS qualification
Experience of using SAP
An engineering background would be an advantage.
