Description

The Estimator will be responsible for providing accurate and timely cost estimates for high-end luxury glazing projects in residential builds and refurbishments.

They will be expected to analyse project specifications, blueprints, and other documents toprepare estimates for materials, labour, and equipment. Additionally, the Estimator will work closely with the sales team to ensure that estimates meet customer requirements and expectations.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Review project specifications, blueprints, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate takeoffs from architectural and structural plans and specifications.
  • Calculate the cost of materials, labour, and equipment needed for each project.
  • Obtain quotes from suppliers and subcontractors for materials and services required for each project.
  • Develop and maintain a cost database to support accurate estimating.
  • Work closely with the sales team to understand customer requirements and ensure estimates meet those requirements.
  • Participate in project meetings with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate project estimates.
  • Provide timely and accurate reports to the sales team on estimate status, cost changes, and other relevant information.

The Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an estimating function
  • Experience in Aluminum Glazing, Fenestration, Architectural Glass or related sectors would be beneficial
  • Proficient in the use of estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Confident in reading and interpreting specifications, blueprints, schematics, other construction documents and client proposals
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced, deadlinedriven environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
