Salary:
The starting salary is £33,348, which includes allowances totalling £2,841.


The salary is broken down as £30,507 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £32,639 Plus, a location allowance of £1,841 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.

Our structure
enables the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) to receive a clear picture of threats and priorities across London, informing how best to task officers, staff and assets to respond effectively.


Duties and responsibilities
As one of the world's leading police service, we investigate some of the most complex and high profile cases.

By joining Met Intelligence, you will form a key part of the research and analytical function, helping to put intelligence at the heart of our operational response and offering you a variety of opportunities to get involved with making London the safest global city.


Key Tasks
What does the average day look like? Your core duties will include:

  • Assisting with identifying crime trends, series and offenders of note by scanning information from a number of sources and databases and presenting key findings verbally and in written form.
  • Supporting intelligence analysts in understanding crime problems through research of information systems to identify potential drivers, locations and people of note.
  • Researching various information sources and providing summaries of people involved in offending to support investigations.
  • Assisting analysts in the compilation of any standard products such as tasking products.
  • Working closely with colleagues in other departments to obtain information to inform research and analytical products.
  • Completing basic mapping of crime to identify hotspots or locations of interest.
