Marsh Portfolio Solutions (MPS) is a dynamic insurer client-centric practice within Marsh UK that places and manages a range of innovative portfolio placement solutions on behalf of Marsh Specialty and Retail Practices.
MPS comprises of a team of over 80 skilled professionals who provide a range of intermediary services to insurer clients including, working with delegated authority from insurers, binding capacity, calculating line size, management information and innovative placement structures.
What can you expect?
- Engage with both internal broking and operations teams and participating Insurers, alongside the binding of Quota Share risks on behalf of the facility Insurers.
- A fastmoving role that will take you in a different direction in comparison to a more "traditional" broking role in insurance providing experience across the entire Marsh UK business by providing Delegated Underwriting expertise and advice.
- Be the class specialist on one of the following classes of business
:Financial Lines, Energy, Marine or Property to identify specific improvements, resolve any issues impacting usage of the facility directly with the relevant Marsh team and support in the training and understanding of the broader DUA team where required.

We will rely on you to:
- Provide delegated underwriting support on one of the following specialised classes of business including
Financial Lines, Energy, Marine or Property
- Act as the first point of contact for daytoday communications with brokers and designated clients (facility insurers), follows up on correspondence.
- Inscope and bind risks using the authority under the DUA requiring good attention to detail, as well as underwriting knowledge and recognising the important of adhering to the parameters of the underwriting agreement.
- Provide training on processes and the DUA for Marsh broker colleagues
- Support colleagues by managing requests and gathering of information from carriers and colleagues, participating on projects, liaising between internal senior professionals
What you need to have:
- DUA / Binding Authority experience
- Ability to work under pressure, often to tight deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly organised and methodical in approach
What makes you stand out:
- Ability to build relationships internally at all levels of senior management and peers within other departments is essential
- Detail focused
- Good MS Excel
- Knowledge of PPL and/or Whitespace
