Design, configuration and maintenance of effective BI platforms and data flows in collaboration with BI and IT colleagues.
A senior data platform administrator is also expected to coordinate smaller projects / data processes and technically mentor more juniordata platform administrators.
Essential Job Duties
Administration
- Configuration of data management, visualisation and analytical platforms in support of BI service delivery including Azure, SQLServer, PowerBI and Qlik.
- Coordinate technical requirements definition for BI platforms, and collaborate with IT colleagues in procurement, setup, configuration and acceptance into BI
- Support Data Management colleagues in developing effective data flows, data integration, data warehousing and publishing for visualisation and analysis
- Investigate BI platform issues to determine the root cause and implement fixes, coordinating with other teams where necessary
Production & Support
- Monitor BI platforms and data flows and coordinate issue resolution
- Work with IT support colleagues to complete customer and BI team technical requests
Education and Experience Requirements
- Experience in providing technical guidance and supporting junior team members
- Extensive BI platform project experience utilising Microsoft enterprise BI stack / Azure
- Comprehensive knowledge of data management and visualisation platforms
- Significant experience of designing, implementing and maintaining data platforms and solutions
- Experience in working in Agile teams
- Ability to collaborate across BI / IT teams internally and externally to deliver projects
- Delivery of priorities to standard and deadline using a logical and commercial approach and excellent time management skills
- Highly effective and professional communication skills when working with both team colleagues and internal / external stakeholders
- Analytical skill set with an ability to interpret requirements and advise on and implement data platform solutions
- Excellent attention to detail with an ability to work effectively in a team and independently
- Ability to work accurately under time pressure
