Our Events Day Support Volunteers play an important role in making people feel valued when supporting the British Red Cross ## The London Marathon is taking place on Sunday 23rd April With scope to attend other events.

## We are looking for volunteers to attend on event day, from 11am - 4pm but can be flexible.

The British Red Cross arrange and support a large number of events across the country and virtually and we need your help to make these possible.

This role is specifically for photo and video support at the cheer points of the London Marathon to produce a video of footage on the day of people.

We want to put together a short video for social media of footage captured on the day of people cheering, runners, and their families.

We do not need someone with a photography background, just someone who is happy capturing the videos on their phone.

You will need to bring your own phone or camera, and any kind of battery packs.

You will be required to send the raw images/photography to the BRC team who will be responsible for editing it.

Prior to the event you will be given a full brief, including examples of the kind of footage we would like you to capture.

Use your voice and energy to support at amazing events. We look forward to meeting you Please note that selected events will be available to over 18's only.
Health and Safety Statement We take an individual approach to ensuring your safety. We may ask you to complete a simple risk assessment.

We will also have a conversation with you to discuss any restrictions that may still be in place in your region and identify any adjustments you may need.

Across the UK we host lots of different events which need help on the day. Selling raffle tickets at a Christmas market, signing in hikers on their way up Snowdon, or cheering on amazing runners from side-lines at the London Marathon
- there are lots of ways to get involved by joining at the events which suit you, you can give Red Cross supporters a really special experience

  • Tasks:
Exact activities will vary according to the type of event you are supporting, but can include:

  • Supporting event participants
  • cheering and encouraging people on route or welcoming them at post-race events
  • Providing refreshments
  • Selling raffle tickets
  • Signing people into their events
  • Active promotion of the British Red Cross and what we do
  • Skills: Enthusiasm and energy
  • Desire to give our supporters a unique and fun experience
  • An interest in the event
