Description
Ever thought about working in an Operating Theatre?

We are looking to recruit theatre support assistants to become part of the team at the Glenfield Hospital, Leicester Royal Infirmary and Leicester General theatres.

These are busy operating theatres covering multiple specialities such as cardiac surgery, vascular surgery, orthopedics, hepatobiliary, general surgery and emergency surgery as just a few examples.

For applicants that wish to develop themselves, we conduct education and training courses supported by local education institutions; with no financial costs to applicants meeting the desired criteria.

These courses enable you to develop your knowledge and skills, to perform more complicated tasks within theatres and allow you to progress in your career should you wish to.

Applications for both full time and part time positions will be considered. The role requires the post holder to work within a shift pattern. Please see job description for details

You will be expected to attend the Trust's Theatre Support Assistant Program. The next program is 06/3/23 and successful applicants need to be available to start on this date

The post holder will support the registered Theatre Practitioners within the peri-operative environment, either performing duties within theatre recovery or in the operating theatre and assisting the theatre/surgical team with patient care.

Your role is to support the theatre team and you will be directly involved in patient care.

This includes performing paperwork checks, escorting patients that are admitted to us, and communicating important information to the team in the anaesthetic room/theatre.
