Essential Qualifications
Our "cover" story
Holewise is a start-up with great ambitions to revolutionise safety within the construction industry.

We've developed an ecosystem to manage health and safety challenges associated with holes and their covers on multi-million pound construction sites.

We combine an engineered cover, an intelligent badge, and a mobile app to address this challenging area of compliance.

This provides the customer with visibility and confidence that their sites are safe working environments and that they meet their legal obligations.

We've been burrowing away, shaping our hardware and software and we're preparing to launch imminently.

This is a pivotal time for Holewise, providing the opportunity for someone experienced and ambitious to contribute to shaping the business beyond launch, through a period of strategic growth and development.

We have been working closely with our target clients and expect a sharp take up in the UK construction industry before Holewise expands globally.

This is a super exciting time to join Holewise as we venture on a journey to leave no hole uncovered

The challenge and the opportunity

As the Finance and Commercial Lead we will look to you to play a critical role in driving Holewise forward financially in readiness for future growth.

Effectively, you will provide strategic direction by understanding, managing, controlling and reporting the numbers.

Your contribution will ensure funding is in place to turn our Holewise vision into a reality whilst keeping the day-to-day business on track.

  • We'd like you to set the direction and lead our Finance and HR functions, you'll be able to develop and execute commercial plans, people plans and budgets which will help us deliver our strategy and create a workplace which enables each of us to deliver our best, for ourselves and for the business.
  • You'll get involved in analysing commercial performance, pricing, supplier negotiations and work with banks, shareholders and suppliers, providing strategy, accountability and driving value. Your insights will influence our decisions and be answerable to shareholders.
  • You'll be the goto person for matters relating to legal, insurance, and commercial record keeping. You'll hold the knowledge and the responsibility, with a place on the Board highly likely.
  • These are the main elements of the role but by the nature of a startup, you can expect to contribute to a host of other aspects of the business, working closely with the Founder and MD in our flat structure.

You

  • We're looking for someone who'd consider themselves commercially astute, with a financial background.
  • Ideally, you'll have delivered in a role where you contributed to developing or executing a strategy which developed the enterprise value of an organisation/ drove significant shareholder value.
  • We'd love a "people" person who's capable of inspiring, leading, managing, motivating and developing others as we grow.
  • For us to be successful together, it's crucial that you're comfortable with ambiguity, highly motivated and can see a challenge as an opportunity

What you can expect
We're relatively early in our start up journey, having just recently come together at our new office in Stevenage.

Beyond growing a profitable business we'd also like you to contribute to building a healthy Holewise culture, developing a workplace, identity and values which is meaningful.

We're open-minded people who understand the power of diverse thinking.

As a talented and experienced individual joining our start-up, you can expect a competitive salary with discretionary bonus, and 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays).
