The Dormant Distillery Company operate one of the worlds leading Whisky Specialist retailers and wholesalers, Royal Mile Whiskies.

Founded in 1998, the company also run a specialist tobacconist on the Royal Mile The Cigar Box and in 2011 opened two specialist Drinks retail shops in Edinburgh and Pitlochry Drinkmonger with the vision to provide the most comprehensive range of quality alcohol products in Scotland.


The Role

  • Purchasing Admin Assistant _

The Purchasing Admin Assistant at Dormant Distillery Company plays a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of our procurement operations. This full-time position is central to our supply chain management, ensuring that our inventory is robust and capable of supporting the dynamic needs of our business. Based in our headquarters, the role operates during office hours from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday to Friday.

In this position, you will be at the heart of our operations, working alongside a passionate team dedicated to the excellence and tradition of the Scottish drinks industry. Responsibilities
As a Purchasing Admin Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the operations of our purchasing department.


Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring and analysing stock consumption volumes and trends to assist in forecasting future needs and ensuring timely replenishment.
  • Efficiently raising and placing purchase orders through our internal operating system, ensuring accuracy and adherence to procurement policies.
  • Acting as the primary liaison with suppliers to confirm delivery times and stock availability, fostering strong supplier relationships.
  • Collaborating with suppliers and our internal goodsin team to address and resolve issues related to late or inaccurate deliveries, ensuring mínimal disruption to our operations.
  • Maintaining and updating internal systems with critical data including scheduled delivery dates, supplier information, and detailed product specifications.
  • Keeping supplier price files up to date, ensuring all purchasing decisions are made with the most current and accurate pricing information.
  • Providing support to various areas of the business as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a teamoriented mindset.

Additional Info, Salary, and Benefits
This is a permanent, full-time post. We are offering an annual salary of £24, A Group Bonus Scheme exists based on trading performance.

Our operating hours are 9:00 to 17:30, Monday to Friday. Some weekend work may be required. Flexible working is available.
