1.
Purpose
To be a key member of the Digital Communications Team and support the Digital Marketing

Manager in delivering the annual marketing plan and an exciting new rebrand.

This key role will include managing the Students' Union's social media channels, delivering social media adverts, and producing content for digital and print media.

This role aims to improve the reach and engagement of the Students' Union through our marketing channels.

2.
Main Duties and Responsibilities

Rebrand

  • Support the Digital Marketing Manager in delivering a new rebrand. The rebrand is taking the Students' Union in an exciting new direction, and you will be key in its delivery.
  • Work closely with the Digital Marketing Manager in creating the annual marketing plan.
Ensuring that it's industry-leading and speaks to the student body.

  • Work closely with the Digital Communications Manager to deliver the Students' Union's overall strategy with a specific focus on digital communications.
  • Support the organisation's digital transformation to improve customer experience.
  • Work in partnership with the University and develop collaborative working arrangements with other external stakeholders to raise the Students' Union's profile within the city and region.
  • Work with others across the organisation to contribute to the delivery the Students'
Union's Equality, Diversity and Inclusion agenda.


Social Media Management

  • Using the new rebrand as a starting point, you will create an annual social media plan focusing on engagement and reach.
  • Manage the social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tik Tok) using
ContentCal as a scheduling tool.

  • To create and deliver an annual social media advertising plan. Using your experience and data to segment and target parts of the student body.
  • To liaise with other departments of the Students' union and support their marketing needs, ensuring the organisation is well represented.

Content Creation

  • To create engaging, timely and industryleading social media content, either independently or with the rest of the Digital Communications Team.
  • Using a relevant tone of voice and a keen eye for detail, you will create exciting, engaging and wellwritten copy for our blog and social media.
  • Liaising with our inhouse design and video producer to create exceptional content.
  • Supporting other departments in creating content.
  • Understand editing software for photos and videos.

1 Qualifications/Training
1.1 Qualified to a degree level in a Marketing and Communications E A related discipline or equivalent qualification or experience

1.2 Related professional qualification D A


2 Experience
2.1 Experience working within the Higher Education/Students' D A
Union movement or similar third-sector organisation

2.2 Experience in producing engaging communications and writing, E A/T/I editing and proofing content for a range of platforms and audiences

2.3 Experience in using social media and digital marketing channels E A/T/I
in a professional environment.

2.4 Experience in planning, producing, and executing campaigns and D I communication plans for business

2.5 Experience in using content planning and scheduling software to E A manage workload and priorities

2.6 Experience in writing a communications plan for social media E A/T

2.7 Experience in liaising with external agencies and the local and D I national media to produce newsworthy and published content

2.9 An excellent understanding of social media advertising, best D A/I practices, and current tropes.

3.0 A good understanding of Adobe or other relevant editing E A/I software
