Cheshire West's Regulatory Services team are looking for highly motivated, dynamic individual with a positive, can-do attitude to carry out a compliance role within our Trading Standards team.

Located within Regulatory Services we carry out a wide range of enforcement and compliance functions to protect residents and support legitimate businesses.


This role is Grade 5 & 7-9 not 5-9 dependent on qualifications and experience**.

The role will cover a wide range of trading standards compliance work including (but not limited to) areas such as explosive and firework licensing, petroleum storage certification, product safety and tenant fees requirements.

Experience in compliance would be an advantage but training and support will be offered across all work areas.


As a pivotal member of the team, you will be expected to support local businesses with in-depth specialist advice and to gather and present evidence for investigations in accordance with statutory requirements and internal policies and procedures.

Excellent organisational and investigative skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage a busy workload are key along with meeting deadlines and engaging and communicating effectively with members of the public, partner agencies and other stakeholders.


A driving licence is essential for this role and you may be required to work from a range of work locations or sites across the Borough, with a flexible working approach there are also opportunities to work from home, depending on the needs of the service.

Grade 8 (SCP £30,151- £34,723

Grade 9 (SCP £33,820- £37,261

The contractual work location for this role is listed above however you may be required to work from a range of work locations or sites within the Borough and may also be required to work from home, depending on the needs of the service.
