About the role:


You will be:

The Technical Support Team Leader will be responsible for managing and leading the Technical Support team. This includes overseeing the management of in-vehicle devices, including the development and introduction of new hardware solutions. Additionally, the role involves indirect management of DANI champions, fostering a culture of excellence and expertise within the team.


Managing in-vehicle devices, overseeing the entire lifecycle from development to disposal, encompassing forecasting, new builds, repairs, and communication for software updates will be the responsibility of the Technical Support Team Leader.

This role involves the management of software updates, deploying software, OS, and security updates, as well as managing in-house developed apps, ensuring reliability, reporting uptime, and other relevant metrics.

Managing in-vehicle systems, including vehicle tracking, collision cameras, and driver performance equipment, is a crucial aspect of this role.

This includes end-to-end lifetime management, development of new hardware solutions, roll-out of new technologies, and oversight of reliability and relevant metrics.

The Technical Support Team Leader will also be responsible for coordinating vehicle installations and providing technician training.

In addition to technical responsibilities, the role involves general administrative duties.

The Technical Support Team Leader will oversee, audit, and manage parts ordering and stock held by the Technical Support team.

Managing reports and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are also a part of the responsibilities. Ensuring a safe and compliant work environment is paramount.

The Technical Support Team Leader will lead by example in adhering to health and safety requirements, ensuring that team members have completed relevant training, and undertaking the necessary training for all equipment and tasks.

They will take responsibility for their safety and that of their team, following all site safety rules, reporting accidents immediately, and promptly addressing potential hazards.

Adherence to Safe Systems of Work and legislative requirements is imperative in this role contributing to maintaining a culture of safety within the team.


About you:


Minimum:


  • Previous management experience
  • Good understanding of technology and operating systems
  • Good proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google suite
  • Analytical fault finding skills
  • Good understanding of safe systems of work and H&S
  • Self motivated and able to work with mínimal supervision
  • Able to communicate effectively with other stakeholders, service providers and senior leadership teams
  • Current UK Driving Licence

Preferred (in addition to minimum)

  • Knowledge of Google suites including scripts, lookerstudio and Appsheet
  • Experience working with in vehicle technology systems such as trackers
  • Experience working with Android devices
  • Experience working with SOTI MDM
  • Good engineering skills
  • Recognised industry qualification
