A career development opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated, positive and enthusiastic person to work as a Data Quality coordinator in the Data Quality team.

You will need to have strong administrative skills, experience of working with HISS and summary care records, have the ability to manage a busy workload and be able to prioritise work to tight deadlines with a 'can do' attitude.

You must be confident in completing tasks using your own initiative with autonomy.


You should be able to demonstrate excellent inter-personal and communication skills and have the ability to forge and maintain relationships with a variety of staff.

Respond to enquiries providing day to day support to a wide range of data collectors across the trust, including expert guidance to users of the Patient Administration System (


PAS :
HISS/Patientcentre).


Support analytical work of a business area through the analysis of data management processes within Clinical Management Groups (CMGs) and, work in partnership with service managers and team leaders in appraising and promoting improvement in data handling techniques.


Help to maintain quality and content of data held on UHL administrative and clinical systems through regular checking and discreet projects.

Process data quality audit in line with national quality assurance standards & protocols.

KEY RESULT AREAS
Service Delivery & Development

  • Using detailed knowledge and being a proficient (superuser) in the use of the PAS, guide and coach all relevant operational staff to ensure that accurate information is obtained and recorded in a timely way.
  • Function effectively in an environment of frequently changing priorities to deal with emerging issues.
  • Influence improvements in data quality standards so that data collectors understand & acknowledge the importance of good quality information. Key to the role is the ability to assess and challenge established work processes and to encourage ownership of improvements and making impact on local policy.
  • Work to parameters set by policies and procedures, some of which the postholder will have assisted in developing and writing. Show a high degree of personal accountability in managing personal workload and conduct, proactively escalating issues to the Data Quality Service Manager to enable the teams focus to be revised as required.
  • In order to analyse all the information available and required to be taken into account, the post holder will have to have intense concentration for long periods of time.
  • The post holder is expected to actively evaluate their own routine tasks and duties to consider whether methods used continue to be sufficiently effective.
