Description

The Early Intervention in Psychosis Team in Milton Keynes works within the Community Mental Health services in Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust (CNWL).

It is a service that provides early detection, assessment and intervention for 14-65 year olds who are experiencing a first episode of psychosis.

The service aims to provide, evidence based treatments within a multidisciplinary team, in order to reduce the impact of Psychosis for the individual and their families.

The EIPT is commissioned to provide and facilitate access to comprehensive, evidence based interventions under the Care Programme Approach (CPA) and non-CPA to clients aged between 14-65 who are experiencing or recovering from a first episode of psychosis.

N/A - Care Programme Approach (CPA) is going to be soon replaced by DIALOG+ (flexible/personalised/safety planning care/collaborative working - what matters to the patient), latest May 2024.

Training is provided to facilitate a smooth transition. Care Coordinators become Keyworkers.

The service endeavours to engage with individuals for up to three years and will prioritise strategies to provide an environment that promotes user involvement and recovery.

The EIPT has close links to organisations including Primary Care, Community Mental Health Services, Children & Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), Inpatient wards and local Schools.
