- Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) is looking for an experienced Associate or Sn. Associate to join the New Markets Fund Team in Southeast Asia._
The New Markets Fund (NMF) Investment Team
Joining the NMF investment team, you will contribute to the development, structuring and execution of investments in greenfield renewable energy infrastructure projects in the fast-growing economies across Asia and Latin America as well as certain countries in Eastern Europe and Africa where Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners see scale, growth, and liquidity.
The Position
Based in Kuala Lumpur or Singapore, you will as part of the investment team be assigned to one or more specific investment opportunities being pursued by NMF in APAC, with a focus on Southeast Asia.
- Manage work-streams that form part of investment due diligence, project development & financing, investment approval and divestment processes
- Support the structuring and negotiation of key transaction documentation
- Development and management of financial models and review of economic and financial assumptions
- Research in relation to counterparties, markets and assets
- Working with and managing external advisors and partners, including legal, financial, and technical to execute investments
- Development of analysis and highquality presentations for internal decision makers and external stakeholders
- Mentor analysts and secure the quality of their deliverables
The work is project driven and will involve all aspects of the infrastructure investment process including sourcing and acquisition, financing, and exits.
We are therefore looking for a self-driven, collaborative, and analytical professional holding a relevant master's degree within Economics, Finance, Business, or other related fields and 2-5 years of work experience in a similar position in an international organization.
Key qualifications include:
- Be a team player with the confidence to exercise judgement appropriately, engaging with colleagues at all levels of seniority
- Excellent quantitative and analytical skills and very strong attention to detail
- Solid corporate finance knowledge, particularly in terms of valuation and financial modelling, with exposure to project finance preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English
- Ability to work well under pressure and take on responsibility
- Substantial experience with Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with energy or infrastructure
- A selfstarter attitude with tenacity, initiative and a willingness to commit to deliver the required results
- Proficiency in a language spoken in one of NMF's core markets is an advantage, but not a requirement
