Open Ended Contract - Permanent: Full Time - 35 Hours per Week


Do you like a challenge? Would you like to deliver IT solutions to contribute to a world-leading centre of academic excellence in the vibrant city of Edinburgh? We are looking for a Database & System administrator to join our talented and friendly team.


The Opportunity:


You will work with colleagues and stakeholders with a range of expertise, and your ability to communicate effectively and openly discuss solutions with people of varying technical understanding will be important.


  • Oracle, MS SQL or Maria DB for the database
  • Working in both Linux and Windows virtualised environments.
  • Kubernetes and Docker


We are looking for someone with good problem-solving skills, who is eager to learn new technical and non-technical skills in an open and encouraging team environment.

We'd love you to have...

  • Proven experience in automation technologies in a Linux environment
  • Working knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker environments
  • Experience integrating with SaaS and cloud solutions
  • Working knowledge of Database Administration in either Oracle, MariaDB or SQL Server
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills
  • You will need to be able to work as part of a team: collaborating with colleagues, and escalating issues to get support when needed.
