We have an opportunity for a Housing Options Officer to provide housing and homeless advice to over 50's and those with disabilities.


The Role


Joining a unique and important customer facing team within our Housing Options department, you will provide an excellent frontline housing service for applicants aged over 50 to be considered for potential independent living (Sheltered and Supported housing).

This will include housing assessments for clients with complex needs, who need to be assessed for properties to meet their medical need and may require property adaptions for disabilities.

You will follow the legal processes and internal procedures from first contact through to lettings sign up.

You will be part of an organisation that strives to create sustainable homes & communities.

This role requires the applicant to deal with implementing homelessness statutory responsibilities under the Homeless Reduction Act 2017.


About You


Our customers are diverse and can be vulnerable, you will need to have a flexible, caring, understanding and positive approach.

The service you provide is everchanging and evolves to the needs of the customers, communities, and partners, so you will need to have an open-minded approach and a can do and positive attitude.

To be successful, you will have experience of working within a customer-based environment that acknowledges and understands vulnerabilities. You will also have knowledge / experience of welfare benefits.


Good IT skills and the ability to learn new systems is essential and you will have strong knowledge of the Housing and Homeless Reduction Act 2017.

Experience working in Social Housing, Housing Options or lettings environment would be beneficial.

A current valid driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.
