Vulcain Engineering Group is a global leader in engineering consultancy services, operating in 40 countries with over 2700 staff worldwide. Our UK business is positioned within the UK Nuclear industry.

We seek motivated and suitably qualified HVAC System Engineers to join our Technical Communities based in the South West of England. This role will contribute to the mega-infrastructure, Nuclear New Build project at Hinkley Point C (HPC).

HVAC Systems Engineer Role

The successful candidate will design and integrate HVAC systems into the overall nuclear power plant by interacting with all disciplines. Key responsibilities include:

Assisting the team lead/discipline pilot in technical coordination, production, and monitoring of layout engineering studies for one or more buildings.
Designing, reviewing, and integrating HVAC systems into dedicated buildings.
Proposing technical solutions to improve design maturity.
Monitoring and resolving design Open Points and design non-conformances.
Receiving input data for layout engineering, analyzing and verifying technical consistency.
Producing and reviewing related technical documents.
Reviewing and assessing deliverables produced by electrical execution designers.
Supporting execution design activities and resolving queries from site-based design teams.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate must have:

A Master's degree in mechanical or process engineering or similar.
In the absence of a master's degree, significant qualifications in an HVAC Engineering field with relevant and proven work experience.
Chartership status through a recognised international body.

Experience and Skills

The successful candidate will possess:

Good knowledge and understanding of general layout rules for industrial projects.
Knowledge of nuclear power station operations and associated safety aspects.
Proficiency in PDMS, AutoCAD 2D, Navisworks software, and other relevant tools.
Experience with EPR Systems, Modification Processes, and Technical Specification.
