OVERVIEW
The Programme and Project Partners (PPP) is an exciting model to work in.

Four world class organisations have come together as one team, with Sellafield Ltd, to create a clean and safe environment for future generations.

PPP is set to revolutionise project delivery at Sellafield and create a lasting legacy, through long-term partnerships.


The Sellafield nuclear site is home to one of the most complex portfolios of construction and infrastructure projects in the world, stretching over many decades.

The new approach will support the transformation from nuclear operator into a world leader in environmental remediation.

The partnership is made up of four lots and Sellafield Ltd, as 5th Partner, to help deliver the site's decommissioning programme:

  • Kellogg Brown and Root Ltd (KBR)
  • integration partner
  • Jacobs design and engineering partner
  • Morgan Sindall Infrastructure civils construction management partner
  • Altrad process construction management partner


Sellafield Ltd will work collaboratively with the four lot partners, to deliver major projects in support of the site's 100-year decommissioning programme.


The new approach is set up to support faster, more effective project delivery, stability in design and construction supply chains, greater workforce flexibility, and local economic benefit.


Project Controls and Commercial Services (PCCS) is the mechanism in which Sellafield Ltd have engaged KBR Ltd to provide Commercial and Project Controls Services to the portfolio of enterprise projects, in addition to the original PPP programme.

Those services include the provision of some 150+ Commercial and Project Controls Professionals across the Sellafield Ltd network of Projects.


Position Summary


Working within the PPP Services Health and Safety team, the
Health and Safety Advisor role provides health and safety support and undertakes assurance checks of statutory and procedural compliance across PPP.


Key Responsibilites
Responsible and accountable to the EHSSQ & Assurance Lead you will be expected to assist with assurance activities and other health and safety related support functions as required:

  • Review Health and Safety plans and procedures prepared by each ADT and partner for compliance with project Health and Safety policy.
  • Monitor work activities and management system processes to ensure compliance to statutory, the Client and PPP Management System is achieved
  • Assist the EHSSQ & Assurance Lead with the review of PPP CMP's.
  • Ensure the reporting of KBR adverse events in line with statutory provisions and KBR procedures and ensure reports are closed out in a timely fashion.
  • Assist in the preparation of the monthly Health and Safety report including collation and reporting of Health and Safety statistics
  • Key Operational Tasks
  • Manage KBR adverse event investigations, complete investigation reports, manage remedial action plans and liaise with the Learning From Experience Manager to ensure learning from experience is undertaken and distributed.
  • Monitor performance of PPP projects in alignment with the Performance Assurance Framework
  • Contribute to a schedule of audits and assist in the composing of audit criteria.
  • Assist in the management wellbeing campaigns.
  • Review project inspection reports and audits and ensure that actions are adequately addressed.
  • Be an active participant in health and safety related meetings.
  • Attend meetings with external parties where required
  • Attend such training as deemed necessary by your Line Manager
  • Ensure all health and safety notice boards are maintained and update information.
  • Undertake DSE assessments and liaise with 3rd parties where additional support is required.
Competencies / Skills

  • Experience working in a construction environment.
  • Likely to have business experience, be a minimum partqualified professional, and have a Certificate Level of Qualification as a minimum.
  • Strong interpersonal skills & ability to build effective working relationships at all levels of the business.
  • A practical, flexible and proactive approach with the ability to show initiative and pay attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills.
