Part Time 29.5 hours per week

Business Support within Disabled Children Service are looking for the perfect person to become part of the Business Support Team. Working within an established team, you will provide administrative support to colleagues, organise meetings, sending Care Plans and Letters within statutory timescales. You will be expected to liaise with staff across our Children's Social Work and Support and Advice teams, as well as working with an array of partner agencies, such as Police, Education and Health to make a real difference for the families we support.


On a daily basis you will be using 0365 Microsoft suite and our in-house database, to record and share information.


This position will be based in Exeter but there may be occasions to travel to our other office base in South Devon.

Work pattern Monday - Wednesday 9:00 - 17:00 and Thursdays 9:00 - 16:40.

Opportunity to Agile Work, meaning you have the ability to work from home with Manager's discretion and service needs. Minimum attending office base two days a week to carry out duties necessary for the role.

During your induction you will be expected to attend Exeter office base 4 days a week learning activities expected of the role.


What key tasks/responsibilities will the role involve (SSA):

  • You will be using a laptop and various internal systems and Microsoft packages to conduct your role.
  • You will be working in an 'agile' way some home working and some officebased work.
  • Coordination meetings
  • Uploading/downloading evidence to/from internal systems.
  • Inputting data into spreadsheet/word documents.
  • Supporting other administrative staff with office operations.

What skills & qualities we need from you?:

  • Able to use a laptop (TEAMS/Outlook/Calendars/Microsoft Edge/Excel/Word). Basic Training will be provided.
  • Positive & enthusiastic attitude towards learning and supporting your colleagues.
  • Sense of humour.
  • Good communication skills & the ability to build good working relationships with team members and wider colleagues.
  • Ability to selfmanage your own workload and be adaptable when service needs might change.
  • Ability to think on your feet and work with colleagues to resolve problems.
  • Remain calm and resilient under pressure.
