We have an opportunity for a Health and Safety Environmental Lead to join either of the above hospitals depending on your location. You must have a license and a car as this role covers a cluster of three local sites within a mile of each other.

This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent
  • Fire safety skills
  • Ability to interpret relevant health and safety legislation, Approved Codes of Practice and guidance and to advice managers on a range of health and safety matters.
  • Risk Assessor experience
  • RCA / Incident investigation skill
  • Contractor Management skills
  • Experience undertaking audits
  • Good IT skills
  • Knowledge of Environmental legislation and standards

Duties of this role include:


  • To advise and assist the Senior Management Teams (SMT), interpret and meet obligations under applicable Health & Safety Acts, regulations and guidance.
  • To support and advice the SMT on promoting a strong health and safety culture throughout the Hospitals.
  • To support the facility in demonstrating an appropriate level of compliance with relevant health and safety standards to our regulators i.e., the CQC, HSE, EA, local government agents and interested parties.
  • To manage environmental risk effectively across the site ensuring compliance with all related legislation and CHG policy
  • To champion environmental management, continually improving performance
