Description
We currently have an exciting vacancy for a yard operative.You will form part of our team responsible for the bagging of various aggregates that are delivered to the construction industry from our busy yard in Leyland.
Duties include
- Loading and unloading vehicles using small machinery; forklifts etc.
- Assembling orders for collection or delivery
- Checking customer orders are booked out correctly
- Operating plant and machinery
- Stock management
- Maintaining general cleanliness of yard
Required Skills / Experience
- Strong customer service approach
- Team player
- Great communication skills
- Articulate and numerate
- Able to lift reasonably heavy loads as this role is physically demanding
Preferred Skills
- Fork truck experience
- Experience of working in a builders' merchant yard or within a building trade
- Full driving license
