What are we looking for in our
Desktop Support Officer?

Desktop Support Officer - £18.18 per hour inside IR3- 3 months contract - London

Key Responsibilities:
Acting as the local liaison contact for the Desktop Operations Team, including supplying knowledge of LCCOS business needs and priorities, and escalating issues where necessary.
Liaison with staff, central and local, regarding supply, registration, and installation of workstations (new and relocated).
Managing LCCOSspecific desktop software provision, including coordinating packaging requests and managed installations for conducting installations on nonmanaged machines.
Ensuring operating system support for all LCCOS workstations, and other equipment such as selfservice machines and tablets. This includes support for security patches, device drivers and antivirus software.
Maintaining accurate records of incidents and support calls and using these to compile a knowledge base of regular problems and associated solutions.
Specifying and ordering from approved suppliers using financial system, receiving and installing all libraryspecific computing equipment.
Supporting audiovisual equipment, including setting up and supporting equipment for LCCOS presentations, meetings, and conferences.
Maintenance of accurate inventory of all LCCOS desktop equipment and software.
Managing loans of portable computing equipment to LCCOS staff.
Liaison with LCCOS Health & Safety Officer to certify that equipment provision meets health and safety standards and to ensure that appropriate equipment is purchased for users with special requirements.
