Newhouse Academy is a comprehensive secondary school, situated close to the M60 in the town of Heywood.
We work closely with our partner school, Hollingworth Academy, and are on a school improvement journey to deliver rising academic standards.
The emphasis for the academy is the 'Our People' high expectations agenda, where we have concentrated on doing the right thing for our people, through a carefully constructed personal development curriculum.
We are seeking to recruit an Assistant Head of Department - Science - Key stage 4 to join our dedicated and talented team.
This is a great opportunity for a passionate, skilled and inspirational leader who will make a substantial contribution to the further development of the Science department.
We are looking for a great practitioner who:
- Holds qualified teacher status; specialising in Science;
- Has a proven track record of success at Key Stage 4;
- Has a real desire to help students achieve all that they can;
- Has values in line with the academy's priorities of Aspiration, Integrity and Respect.
We are delighted with the progress that the school is making, excited about the potential for our current and future students, and are all working tirelessly to ensure that we keep moving forward, delivering the very best education.
We have been chosen as one of 50 schools nationally to gain government funding for building development and our new-build is now well underway.
Set to open in 2024, students (and staff) will have access to new technology and engineering classrooms, science labs, new sports facilities and a brand new, modern dining room.
