Description
To provide a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for children placed in the nursery.

  • To work as part of a team in order to provide an enabling environment in which all individual children can play, develop and learn.
  • To build and maintain strong partnership working with parents/carers to enable children's needs to be met. Main Duties.
  • To effectively deliver the EYFS ensuring that the individual needs and interest of children are met and maintain equality of opportunity for all children in the nursery (in conjunction with other team members).
  • Support all staff, students and volunteers and engage in a good staff team to ensure that there is a positive, happy and productive atmosphere at all times.
  • To attend staff meetings and participate with the planning of activities of the nursery set curriculum based on the EYFS.
  • To keep records of your key children's development and learning journeys and share with parents, carers and other key adults in the child's life.
  • To ensure records are properly completed and maintained including accident reports, medication book, snack checks and daily checks of the nursery.
  • To develop and maintain strong partnerships and communication with parents/carers to facilitate day today caring and early learning needs.
  • To ensure the provision of a highquality environment to meet the needs of individual children having an awareness of any disabilities, family cultures and medical histories.
  • To follow guidelines and procedures for safeguarding as recommended by the local authority and to advise manager of any concerns in the respect of children, parents, or the safety of the environment.
  • To be flexible within the working practices of the nursery, undertaking other responsible duties where needed, such as domestic tasks, preparation of snack meals, cleaning of equipment, etc.
  • To work alongside the Manager and staff team to ensure that the nursery's aims and objectives are fulfilled.
  • To read, understand and adhere to all policies and procedures relevant to your role and the safe running of the nursery.
  • To develop your role within the team, especially with regard to being a Key Person
  • To keep confidential any information regarding the children, their families or other staff that is acquired as part of the job and ensure any documentation is kept in accordance with GDPR and general confidentiality as required.
  • To be aware of the high profile of the nursery and to uphold its standards at all times, both in work hours and outside.
  • To occasionally participate in out of typical working hours activities, e.g., for example training, network meetings and open days etc when required.
  • To ensure good standards of safety, hygiene and cleanliness in and around the nursery are maintained at all times.
  • To ensure the hygiene, safety and comfort of children in the nursery is always maintained, including for example, nappy changes, assisting with toilet training or help with feeding as may be required. This job description is not an exhaustive list of duties and the post holder will be required to undertake any other reasonable duties discussed and directed by the line manager. The post holder is also expected to be flexible and adaptable in their approach to fulfilling their duties.

Pay:
£11.50-£11.55 per hour
